The series follows (played by Shine Pandey ), a bright-eyed boy from Gonda who moves to Lucknow to chase his dream of clearing the UPSC exams . Before leaving, his mother makes him swear three promises: no fighting, no drinking, and staying away from girls.

Shine Pandey is widely praised for his sincere portrayal of the "fish out of water" protagonist. Kusha Kapila provides a grounded emotional anchor as Chaya, Rajat's mentor figure, while Aasif Khan delivers a convincing performance as his supportive elder brother.
