The film takes place after the events of the first movie, with Po (voiced by Jack Black) now more confident in his role as the Dragon Warrior. However, a new villain emerges in the form of Shen (voiced by Jack Black as well), a snow leopard who was once a student of the Furious Five's master, Shifu. Shen seeks revenge against the Valley of Peace and its inhabitants, having been expelled from the Jade Palace for his evil ambitions.

The movie takes place after the events of the first film. Po (Jack Black), a panda who became the Dragon Warrior, is now a celebrity in the Valley of Peace. However, a new threat emerges in the form of Shen (Jackie Chan), a former Shaolin monk who seeks to destroy all kung fu practitioners. Shen has developed a powerful mind-control serum that can turn animals into mindless, zombie-like creatures. Po and his friends, Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) and the Furious Five (Bryan Cranston, Angelina Jolie, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Seth Rogen, and Michelle Yeoh), must stop Shen and save the Valley of Peace.
