dass092 was never decommissioned. In the margins of the facility's archives, a clerk who had always liked certain anomalies flagged Unit 092 as reassigned. Mara wrote a short report that bypassed truth with civility: "Unit reallocated to field support, assigned to long-term memory preservation." She left out the tunnel and the child's name, and the clerk left the entry as it was, because some things are easier to believe when they are written as work.
