Despite its success, the niche faces hurdles. Dubbing quality remains inconsistent; some distributors rush to capitalize on a film’s hype, resulting in poor lip-sync and unnatural dialogue. Furthermore, the theatrical viability is still unproven. Most Tamil-dubbed Malayalam movies thrive on OTT and satellite television. The exclusivity, therefore, remains a digital and home-viewing phenomenon, not yet a mass-theatrical one.
